Tracking scattered rain and cooler temperatures today

THIS MORNING: Rain fills in from the west, becoming widespread through the morning. Temperatures will dwell in the 50s and low 60s.

TODAY: Scattered showers persist through midafternoon, keeping highs in the mid to upper 60s. Evening plans will likely be drier as rain winds down. Totals add up to a quarter to half inch today.

EXTENDED: Friday into the weekend looks fantastic as surface high pressure builds in. There could be a rogue shower or two early Sunday, but rain chances are very slim as highs climb to the 80s by Saturday. Heat and humidity ramp up next week with temperatures increasing into the upper 80s and dew points creeping into the 60s. Storms are possible on Tuesday and Wednesday as an active pattern returns to the region.
