The Blues have been eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs in stunning fashion.

St. Louis (44-30-8) surrendered a two-goal lead in the final three minutes of regulation, leading to a 4-3 loss in double overtime to Winnipeg (56-22-4) in game seven of its first-round playoff series. The home team won all seven games of this best-of-seven postseason competition.

Head Coach Jim Montgomery's team manufactured a multi-score lead in less than 10 minutes of Sunday's game. Jordan Kyrou and Mathieu Joseph each scored a goal in the opening period.

Then, both teams traded goals in the second period. After Cole Perfetti capitalized on one of Winnipeg's power play opportunities, Radek Faksa scored with less than one minute before the intermission to regain a two-goal lead.

St. Louis held the lead for more than 58 minutes of the game, but despite finishing 43-for-47 in save opportunities, Jordan Binnington allowed two empty-net goals to Perfetti and Vladislav Namestnikov to force overtime.

From there, Connor Hellebuyck, who was pulled from goalie in all three of Winnipeg's outings at the Enterprise Center in this series, held the Blues scoreless in both overtime periods and tallied 26 saves before Adam Lowry buried the game-winning goal at the 16:10-mark of the second overtime.

The Blues turn their focus to the 2025-26 campaign, following the franchise's first Stanley Cup Playoffs appearance in three years and a 44-win regular season.
