Tracking heat and limited storm chances

TODAY: Thursday is another ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day. Dangerous heat indexes of 105 degrees or higher remain likely today, along with mostly dry conditions. Partly cloudy skies will keep some gray in our sky, but we'll remain very bright for most of the day. Temperatures in the mid-90s and dew points in the 70s will make for another sweltering afternoon. A stray storm or two remains possible.

TONIGHT: Skies remain mostly clear again overnight if you are hoping to view the Perseids Meteor Showers.

EXTENDED: Friday brings another hot and mostly dry day to the region. We expect dangerous heat indexes to return with highs in the 90s and dew points in the 70s again. Given high uncertainty in storm timing and tracking with the stationary front that remains nearby to our north, slim storm chances remain forecast for Friday. Drier weather is likely on Saturday, with temperatures that are just as hot. There continue to be signals of drier air on Saturday, so we may not feel as extremely hot. Rain chances return Sunday and Monday, as a cold front moves through. Highs are expected to drop into the 80s on Monday.
