Mizzou adds former West Virginia guard to transfer portal class

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Men's Basketball has landed its fifth transfer portal addition of the offseason.

On Sunday night, head coach Dennis Gates and his staff received a commitment from West Virginia transfer Jayden Stone, following his redshirt season with the Mountaineers. The 2025-26 campaign will be his final year of eligibility.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard missed the entirety of last season with an injury, but he was a prolific scorer in his previous two campaigns at Detroit Mercy. The Australia native averaged 18.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game over 40 appearances with the Titans from 2022-24. He also posted a .438 field goal percentage and .354 three-point percentage during that same span.

Before that, Stone played two seasons at Grand Canyon University where he also shot the ball at a high-level. He hit 39.3% of his shots, including 30.2% of his three-point attempts, in 30 games with the Antelopes.

Stone joins Oklahoma's Luke Northweather, Loyola Marymount's Jevon Porter, UCLA's Sebastian Mack, and Arizona State's Shawn Phillips Jr. as the five members of the team's transfer portal class.
