Mike Alden named final member of 2025 Mizzou Athletics Hall of Fame Class

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
MU has revealed its entire University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
On Thursday, former Mizzou Athletics Director Mike Alden was announced as the sixth inductee of this year's Hall of Fame class.
Alden served as the university's Director of Athletics for 17 years, the second-longest tenure of any Mizzou Athletics Director in school history, and guided the department through its most critical transition, leaving the Big-12 to join the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Under his leadership, MU experienced significant growth. During Alden's tenure, the athletics department's annual budget increased from $13.5 million to nearly $90 million, and he helped acquire more than $265 million in private donations. He also spearheaded renovations to Memorial Stadium and the construction of Mizzou Arena, Taylor Stadium, the Mizzou Tennis Complex, the Walsworth Family Golf Center and the Tiger Performance Complex.
Alden also led the athletics department to academic and on-field success. Mizzou ranked among the SEC's leaders in Graduation Success Rates and Academic Progress Rates, and MU captured conference championships in football, men's basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, baseball and wrestling across his 17 years of guidance. The on-field accomplishments also carried over quickly to the SEC with 16-of-20 athletics programs reaching the postseason by the school's third season in the league.
The Chicago native also set the school's football team on a path of achievement by hiring Gary Pinkel, who finished his 15-season tenure as the program's winningest head coach (118 wins) and an NFF College Football Hall of Fame inductee.
