COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

MU Health Care and UnitedHealthcare have agreed to a contract extension, MU Health Care announced Wednesday in a press release.

A spokesperson with MU Health Care said that contract negotiations began earlier this month and that its contract with United was originally set to expire April 30, 2026. That deal has been extended to April 30, 2027.

The extension applied to United customers who get their insurance through their employer, the Affordable Care Act or Medicare Advantage, the release says.

This announcement comes as MU Health Care’s negotiations have stalled with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. That agreement is set to expire on March 31, in which BCBS customers will no longer have MU Health Care in its network.

MU Health Care is also currently in negotiations with HealthLink, which is also set to expire on March 31, according to information on MU Health Care’s website.
