Tracking an active weather week with several precipitation chances and seasonable temperatures

TODAY: Tuesday is a warm and breezy day, besting highs on Monday by a margin of 5 degrees or more. We expect highs today to reach low 80s near Columbia to Jefferson City. Winds will be a near replica of Monday's winds, raising another red flag warning across most of the region. Southwest winds will be sustained around 10-20 mph, and gust to 40 mph at times.

TONIGHT: Temperatures stay warm tonight, as a warm front lifts through the region. We'll stay in the 60s through the early morning Wednesday, when a cold front moves through the region. Winds overnight will be sustained from 10-20 mph, and gust to 30 mph at times.

EXTENDED: The wind shift will come through the mid-morning, dropping temperatures from 60s around 9 a.m. to 40s by 4 p.m. This will have us cooling fast Wednesday night. Some showers will return by 3p.m. in the west. What is a cold rain at first, will transition to some snow showers around 7-9 p.m. in the west. This will leave grassy dustings across mid-Missouri, not unlike what we woke up to on Sunday morning. No travel impacts are expected. Mostly sunny skies return Thursday, with highs stuck in the low-to-mid 50s. Friday is Partly Cloudy, but we'll pick up a chance for showers late in the day with highs in the mid-60s. The weekend starts dry and mild, with sunshine and 60s Saturday, but we'll be tracking a rain chance with a passing low on Sunday.
