Columbia man accused of pulling out gun during 2 road rage incidents

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man was charged with felonies in two cases after he allegedly pulled out a gun during a pair of road rage incidents.
Richard McDonald, 62, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action in a case stemming from an alleged Feb. 1 incident. He was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and three misdemeanors: Fourth-degree assault, failure to register a vehicle and reckless driving in connection with an alleged incident from Saturday.
He is being held at the Boone County Jail and $30,000 bonds were set, according to court documents.
A man claimed that on Feb. 1, McDonald followed his vehicle closely while he was trying to pass a semi-truck while heading eastbound on Interstate 70 near the Lake of the Woods exit. McDonald allegedly then drove his black Dodge Ram to weave in and out of the driving lane before pulling out a gun and driving away, the statement says.
For the charges related to Sunday’s incident on Range Line Street near Smiley Lane, McDonald allegedly drove fast in his Dodge Ram and pulled out a gun when he could pass a woman’s car, the statement says. The victim in that case was able to identify McDonald to police during a “show up,” the statement says.
