Charges added for man accused in November Douglass Park shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man accused of shooting a woman at Douglass Park in Columbia on Nov. 10 has seen additional charges filed.

Marlon McCraney, 51, is now charged with first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action, one count of unlawful use of a weapon and illegal gun possession after a grand jury indictment was filed on Friday. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond.

An arraignment for the new set of charges is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18.

McCraney is accused of shooting a woman in the leg.

Surveillance video shows a man matching McCraney's description talking or arguing with a woman at a park pavilion before shooting her, according to a probable cause statement. Police discovered his name because McCraney bought sunflower seeds at Schnucks and used his rewards, the statement says.
