Cardinals Caravan makes stops in Mid-Missouri ahead of 2025 season

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Cardinals Caravan made a couple of pit stops in Mid-Missouri on both Friday and Saturday, as the start of Spring Training is about 20 days away.
St. Louis outfielder Alec Burleson, first baseman Luken Baker, pitcher Mitch Harris and catcher Jimmy Crooks met fans, took pictures and answered a whole lot of questions in both Jefferson City and Columbia. The group was also joined by former Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams and broadcaster John Rooney.
The Cardinals will look to improve upon an 83-79 campaign in 2024, where the team missed the postseason for the second-straight year.
The team will have a new look in 2025, especially with the departure of first baseman and four-time Gold Glove award winner Paul Goldschmidt to the Yankees. However, Burleson said he thinks this group is going to be a little bit better than some people might anticipate.
"We have a good young core that has experience and then, obviously, some new guys that are kind of going to come up, as well. I'm excited just to get down [to Spring Training] and start working with the guys and just see kind of how we mesh together," Burleson said.

The Cardinals will report to Spring Training in Florida the second week of February and will play in their first game against Miami on Saturday, Feb. 22.
