COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Midway through the 2024-25 campaign, the struggles continued for No. 21 Mizzou wrestling on Sunday afternoon at the Hearnes Center.

The Tigers, who have been dealing with a slew of injuries, could not get it done against No. 15 Stanford, falling 27-15, which marks the first time that Mizzou has ever lost to the Cardinals. MU did claim victory in three out of nine matches, picking up one bonus-point win, but fell in some critical duals against Stanford. With the loss, head coach Brian Smith and company fell to 2-7 on the season.

Mizzou started off with a win right out of the gates, as Stanford forfeited at 125 pounds, which gave freshman Gage Walker the victory. However, the Cardinals quickly got into the win column right after that, at 133 pounds, when No. 10 Tyler Knox defeated Mizzou's Kade Moore by major decision.

After that, Smith and company only registered two more wins, courtesy of Josh Edmond's victory at 141 pounds and Colton Hawks' thrilling win at 184 pounds.
