Audrain County man sentenced in another child sex crime case

An Audrain County man who was already sentenced to 50 years in prison was given another sentence for five years on Thursday in Randolph County.

William Dahl, 40, was sentenced to five years in prison on Thursday after he entered an Alford plea for first-degree statutory rape. He was previously sentenced 50 years in federal court in December 2023 for producing and two counts of receiving child pornography.

Dahl has several active cases in Audrain County. In one case, he’s charged with forcible sodomy; he’s charged with forcible rape and attempted forcible rape in another case. In a third case, he’s charged with first-degree child sex trafficking, sexual exploitation of a minor child, first-degree promoting child pornography and possessing child porn.

In yet another case, he was charged with first-degree statutory rape, first-degree statutory sodomy and first-degree child molestation.

In a fifth case – still in Audrain County – he’s charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child, use of child in sexual performance, two counts of second-degree statutory sodomy, fourth-degree child molestation, child kidnapping, third-degree child molestation, three counts of child enticement and two counts of misdemeanor furnishing pornographic material to a minor.

A case review for his active cases is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, March 10 at the Audrain County Courthouse.
