Cause of December Sedalia fire undetermined, report says

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The cause of a Dec. 8 fire at a building on West Main Street in Sedalia is still under investigation, according to a fire report.

Firefighters responded to fires at 421 and 419 West Main Street on Dec. 8. The report says the cause of the fire at 421 West Main Street is still under investigation and the causes for ignition and the heat source were undetermined. The fire spread past that building.

The building was a total loss and a pet was never found, the report says. Two residents stayed in the building.

The report says the building at 419 West Main Street caught fire after heat spread from the 421 address. The building was vacant.
