Miller County man accused of shooting at occupied truck bonds out of jail

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Brumley man who was accused of shooting at an occupied truck on Saturday bonded out of jail on Monday.

Brandon Whittle, 49, was charged on Monday with first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree property damage and armed criminal action. He was booked into the Miller County Jail at 9:49 a.m. and posted a $10,000 bond at 12:15 p.m. Monday, according to online jail records.

A court date has not been set, but an entry of appearance was filed, according to court records.

According to the probable cause statement, deputies were dispatched to an area in Brumley for a shooting investigation. A victim allegedly stated that they and another person were in a Dodge pickup truck when Whittle shot at its back window, court documents say.

The incident allegedly occurred at Whittle’s residence and at least one of the victims worked for Whittle, the heavily redacted probable cause statement says say. An argument occurred and Whittle became angry before firing at the vehicle while the victims were leaving, according to the probable cause statement.

Whittle allegedly followed the truck to the victim’s residence, court documents claim. The victims allegedly went inside the residence and Whittle shot at the truck three more times before leaving, investigators wrote.
