Versailles man faces child porn charges

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Versailles man was charged with several counts of having child pornography on Wednesday.

Corey Laughlin, 27, was charged with three counts of having more than 20 files of child pornography and an additional count of child porn possession. He is being held at the Morgan County Jail on a $250,000 bond. An arraignment is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday.

According to the probable cause statement, tipline reports were made on Aug. 27 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about an IP address in Versailles being involved in uploading child porn to the social media application Kik.

Morgan County deputies applied for a search warrant and obtained Laughlin’s phone and found several files, as well as a website that is apparently made specifically for adults to obtain child pornography from children, the statement says.

Laughlin eventually admitted to viewing child porn, as well as bestiality, to authorities on Nov. 14, the statement says.
