Tracking a blustery and cold end to the week

TODAY: Wednesday is mostly sunny, and breezy. West-northwest winds sustained near 20 mph and gusting to 30+ mph will keep us cool today. Wind chill will be a factor as well, with feels like temperatures as low as low 40s through the afternoon.

TONIGHT: Temperatures fall to near freezing overnight, with clouds returning by sunrise. Winds relax but a breeze from the west is maintained through the morning.

EXTENDED: Thursday is another blustery day, but this time colder and possibly cloudier. We will have northwest winds sustained near 20 mph gusting higher than 30 mph at times. This partnered with highs in the low 40s will have us feeling like 20s and 30s through the day. Clouds will be tricky, with a blanket of clouds likely in the north, but it's unclear just how far south they will stretch. It currently looks like Columbia and Jefferson City could be cloudy much of Thursday. This would be meaningful in terms of just how cold we feel through the day. More sunshine returns Friday. Friday starts in the 20s, with highs expected in the 40s. South winds warm us into the 50s Saturday, and into the 60s by Sunday. A system brings cooler air back by early next week, with slim shower chances.
