Two arrested in connection with Northwest Columbia assault

The Columbia Police Department arrested a man and a woman allegedly in connection with a Friday afternoon assault that happened in Northwest Columbia, according to a release from the department.

At around 2:30 p.m. Friday, Columbia Police responded to an assault in the 2800 block of Primrose Dr. When officers arrived they found a man with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is still there as of Saturday morning.

At around 7:30 p.m., Columbia Police arrested Alexander Aklan, 28, of Columbia on charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, first-degree trafficking and unlawful use of a weapon. Felicia Hay, 33, of Columbia was arrested for first-degree assault.

The two were arrested during a traffic stop, according to the department.
