COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Callaway County jury last week acquitted a man of seven counts related to child sex crimes.

Gilbert Sing was charged in June 2022 with charges including child molestation, sodomy, sexual misconduct and witness tampering. Authorities alleged that the crimes were committed in 2019 and 2020.

His trial began last Tuesday and wrapped up Thursday.

The jury deliberated for nearly eight hours before returning not-guilty verdicts on all seven counts facing Sing.

Sing's family in messages to ABC 17 News said they were happy Sing's name had been cleared.
