Republican incumbent Josh Hawley faces Democrat Lucas Kunce for US Senate seat in Missouri

Associated Press

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Missouri Republican incumbent Josh Hawley is facing off against Democratic challenger Lucas Kunce for his U.S. Senate seat. Election Day is Tuesday. Hawley was elected to the Senate in 2018 when he ousted two-term Sen. Claire McCaskill. She was one of the last Democrats to hold statewide office in Missouri. Kunce is a Marine. He also unsuccessfully sought the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination in 2022. Kunce faces steep odds against Hawley in the heavily Republican state. But Democrats are hoping an abortion-rights amendment on the November ballot will help their candidates.
