Public meeting announced for bridge replacement near Sturgeon

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A public information meeting has been announced for a bridge replacement project on Highway 22 in Audrain and Boone counties, according to a Friday press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The release says a bridge over a railroad that’s just west of Highway 151 will be replaced in 2027. Most construction will take place on a new alignment away from Highway 22, but closures will be required on Highways 22 and 151, the release says.

The meeting about the project will be held 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the multipurpose room of Sunnydale Seventh-day Adventist Church in Centralia – located at 6964 Audrain Road 9137, the release says. The meeting will be “open-house style,” the release says.

“We encourage individuals to come and learn about this important project and ask questions,” MoDOT Project Manager Keith Killen said in the release. “The new bridge will be constructed on a new improved alignment near the existing roadway and include two 12’ lanes with 4’ shoulders”.

A timeline for the project can be found on MoDOT’s website.
