Mizzou kicker named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou kicker Blake Craig was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week, on Monday, after going 4-for-4 in his team's Top-25 win over Boston College.

It is Craig's first time earning an SEC honor in his young career.

He nailed kicks from 31 and a couple from 38 yards, but the highlight of the redshirt freshman's four field goals was a career-high 56 yarder that put MU on top 17-14 at halftime. That kick was the longest field goal for a Tiger since Harrison Mevis hit a 61-yard field goal in 2023.

Craig handled six kickoffs from the Tigers, totaling 390 yards for an average of 65 yards per kickoff.

The Kansas City native is tied for first, nationally, in field goals per game and ranks fifth in total points scored.

Up next - Craig and his Mizzou team will host Vanderbilt to kickoff SEC play on Saturday, Sept. 21. Kickoff is slated for 3:15 p.m.
