A man accused in a deadly shooting in Columbia on Dove Drive is due in court at the Boone County Courthouse Monday.

Jashaun Barney is charged with second-degree murder armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon for a deadly shooting on Dove Drive in June 2023. Deshon Houston, 33, was killed when police say Barney and six others started shooting.

According to court documents, police saw Barney run away, get into a car and left. A car chase started after the shooting and the car was stopped by spikes on Interstate 70 near Creasy Springs Road and Business 70.

Three other men, Jajuan Crocket, Damarkus Williams and Bryton Allen, are also charged in the case.
