Rain/snow south overnight, tracking more snow Wednesday

THIS AFTERNOON: A quick dose of sunshine this afternoon warms us to near 40, clouds build back in overnight.

TONIGHT: Rain and snow is possible south of HWY 50 overnight -- no major impacts are expected, but a few slushy roads are possible near LoZ/I-44 overnight.

EXTENDED: Tuesday looks to be a quiet day, but we'll be battling cloud cover yet again. Rain and snow chances move back in overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Still a few questions about this system with mid-Missouri riding a fine line. Precipitation may start out as snow briefly Wednesday morning before warming above freezing by the afternoon. That rain will transition back to a wintry mix into the overnight hours as this system pushes in some cooler air Wednesday night before wrapping up. Minor accumulations are possible and would be more impactful heading into the morning hours on Thursday. Highs look like they'll struggle to warm up out of the 20s with a steady northwest wind. We'll thaw out heading into the weekend.
