COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man accused last week of shooting at a group of people downtown has been charged with four felonies.

Deangelo T. Grant, 39, was arrested Friday in connection with an early morning shooting on Aug. 25 at Tenth Street and Broadway. One person was hit by gunfire, police say. He was charged last week with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon illegal gun possession and misdemeanor property damage.

Police spoke with the gunshot victim, who had been taken to a hospital. Investigators then looked at surveillance video and identified Grant, according to a probable cause statement.

The video appeared to show Grant firing into a group of people that included the gunshot victim, police say. Investigators also found spent casings at the spots where Grant appeared to have fired, the statement says.

Three Columbia Police Department detectives identified Grant as the shooter from the video, the statement says.

Grant remained in the Boone County Jail without bond on Tuesday.
