Lane closures for sidewalk work on Grindstone Parkway moved to Sept. 10
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Work on the Grindstone Parkway Sidewalk Project in Columbia will require lane closures beginning on Sept. 10, according to a Friday press release from the city.
Work was originally set to begin on Tuesday, and will be completed by late fall. The project will address a sidewalk gap on the south side of Grindstone Parkway between Hyde Park Avenue and Norfleet Drive, the release says.
The eastbound shoulder and bike lane of Grindstone Parkway will be closed and lane restrictions will be required, the release says.
Crews will extend the existing sidewalk just east of Hyde Park Avenue and connect with the existing sidewalk at the corner of Grindstone Parkway and State Farm Parkway, the release says. A sidewalk will also be constructed from the existing sidewalk west of Norfleet Drive until it connects with the sidewalk at Grindstone and State Farm parkways, the release says.
The total cost of construction is $139,200 and is funded by the city’s Capital Improvement Tax, the release says.
