Lane of Scott Boulevard in southwest Columbia shut down after crash, reopens after 50 minutes

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A portion of the northbound lane of Scott Boulevard in southwest Columbia was shut down on Tuesday evening after a crash.

Boone County Joint Communications issued an alert at 9:06 p.m. that a motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Scott Boulevard and West Bethany Drive. First responders reopened the intersection at 9:50 p.m.

Gale Blomenkamp, Boone County Fire Protection District assistant chief, told ABC 17 News in a text message that two vehicles were involved in the crash and that one person ran away from the scene. Blomenkamp said minor injuries were observed, but did not say how many people were in the crash.

Four Boone County Sheriff's deputies and two Boone County Fire Protection District vehicles were on the scene. A tow truck began taking away one of the vehicles at 9:45 p.m.
