JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Resurfacing on Highway 54 in Callaway County will begin next week, according to a Tuesday press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Resurfacing begins Monday and will require lane closures, the release says. Hours of work will depend on the location:

  • Night work, 7 p.m.-6 a.m.: North of the Missouri River to south of Summit Drive.
  • No work hour restrictions: South of Summit Drive to south of Route OO.

The pavement repair and resurfacing will improve both east and westbound U.S. Route 54 from the Missouri River bridges to just north of Kingdom City, the release says. The resurfacing for the full stretch of road will be completed in 2025.
