MARIES COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A St. James man was arrested after he was accused of several child sex crimes that allegedly took place between 2003-08.

Brian Keith Curtis, 55, was charged with first-degree statutory rape of a victim younger than 14 years old, three counts of statutory sodomy, one count of first-degree kidnapping and four counts of incest. He is being held at the Maries County Jail on a $250,000. A court date has not been set.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim spoke with law enforcement on Friday, July 26 to detail the assaults and allegedly showed a text message conversation from May where they confronted Curtis. Curtis allegedly admitted to the assaults occurring in the exchange.

Another person related to the victim also allegedly told law enforcement that they saw a sexual assault occur between August 2008-September 2008, the statement says.

Law enforcement interviewed Curtis on Tuesday, where he denied the allegations, court documents say. He was arrested after the interview.
