Tracking drier and warmer weather through the weekend

TODAY: Wednesday is drier, but we retain a chance for a weak shower or storm on a very isolated basis. This evening, a short wave aloft will roll in on the heels of Beryl, driving these limited chances for rain. No meaningful rain comes from this, so the flood threat stays away. With more sunshine, highs return to the 80s.

TONIGHT: Lows fall into the 60s, with variable temperatures and partly cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: Thursday is a near repeat of Wednesday, with another late afternoon and evening chance for isolated showers and a high in the mid-to-upper 80s. Friday looks drier yet, but a lingering chance for an evening shower can't be completely ruled out, but the chances are too small to practically include in the forecast. Friday is effectively dry. More sunshine and heat returns as upper level high pressure works in to keep us dry and hot. Actually this is what has a suppressing effect on Friday's rain chance. We'll have sun and 90s forecast Saturday through Tuesday of next week, when clouds become a bit more prevalent as the high pressure looks to break down.
