Groundbreaking ceremony for new Multi-Agency State Laboratory Campus being held Thursday

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The state of Missouri will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony for a Multi-Agency State Laboratory in Jefferson City Thursday.

The ceremony will be held behind the Missouri State Public Health Laboratory from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Governor Mike Parson and his cabinet will all be in attendance and will provide details about the brand new lab and how it will better serve Missourians.

In a press release regarding the new lab, the state said it wants to lead the nation in public safety, health, agricultural production, wildlife and environmental areas.

In January, Parson suggested a $1.4 million investment to enhance the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab.
