A Columbia man who was charged with multiple child sex crimes was ordered on Friday to be extradited from Texas.

Candido Galeas was charged in Boone County with second-degree child sex trafficking, second-degree sex abuse and tampering with a victim in a felony prosecution.

A Thursday case entry states that Galeas was arrested and is being held by the Texas Department of Public Safety in Austin. He has not yet appeared on the Boone County Jail roster.

According to the probable cause statement, Galeas allegedly sexually assaulted a child at his residence between Nov. 1, 2023-June 7. Galeas allegedly also offered the victim money to touch them on separate occasions, the statement says.
