Tracking wintry mix tonight, accumulating snow Wednesday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with scattered freezing rain and sleet. Isolated slick spots are possible. Precipitation ends before midnight. Lows in the upper 20s.

WEDNESDAY: The last round of precipitation arrives as snow by mid-morning, lasting all day. Temperatures remain steady around 30 degrees. Snowfall amounts ranging between 3-6". Snow ends before sunrise Thursday.

EXTENDED: Snowfall hangs on through early Thursday morning, threatening a slow morning commute. The snow covered ground will keep afternoon highs in the low 30s, and overnight lows in the teens to around 20 on Friday morning. Another quick clipper to our north on Friday could bring more clouds and a few flurries to the northern half of the area. Temperatures remain below average through Saturday with highs in the 30s. We could see a similar storm system set up early next week, with rain chances returning by Sunday night, and temperatures back to near normal with highs in the low to mid-40s.
