‘No foul play was found’ in death of Moberly man whose body was found in January
MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ)
No foul play was determined in the death of a Moberly man whose body was found on Jan. 29 in the 900 block of North Moulton Street in Moberly, Randolph County Sheriff Aaron Wilson told ABC 17 News in a text message.
Wilson said a toxicology report came back that indicated Corey Davis, 35, died from an accidental overdose. “(The) cause of death was drugs and hypothermia due to the elements. No foul play was found," Wilson wrote in the text message. Wilson stated the report determined that methamphetamine was in Davis’ system.
The investigation began as a homicide investigation when Davis was found with “a big goose-egg knot on his head.” Davis did not have wounds from a gunshot or stabbing. The investigation became a death investigation in March.
Wilson had told ABC 17 News in March that Davis’ death was “looking like an overdose.”
