Tracking elevated fire danger tomorrow, storms later in the week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and chilly lows in the upper 30s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and windy with southwest gusts up to 25 mph. Strong winds and low relative humidity will increase the fire danger as highs reach the lower 70s.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking another sunny day to start next week as highs reach the upper 60s to low 70s tomorrow. Gusty winds will elevate fire danger tomorrow as we'll have gusts up to 25 mph with low relative humidity. I'll be tracking a disturbance that will bring a chance for scattered storms by evening. We're monitoring for a low severe potential at this time, but need another day to keep an eye on the ingredients lining up. Wednesday looks largely dry ahead of a cold front that approaches on Thursday night that could bring another round of rain and a few storms. Right now, the best shot at severe on Thursday looks to lay across the southern third of the state, but we'll watch that closely as well. Temperatures reach the low 70s each day ahead of the front before cooling down to about 60 on Friday. We'll end up with about an inch of total rainfall through the week. The weekend looks dry with highs in the 50s and sunshine.
