Columbia man arrested following Friday night standoff

A Columbia man has been charged after a standoff with the Columbia Police Department in the 1400 block of West Worley Street on Saturday evening.

CPD reported in a press release that at around 11:45 p.m. Friday, 53-year-old Glen Lee Parey was reported to police after standing near the street and pointing guns at passing vehicles. When officers arrived, Parey also called 911 and threatened dispatchers and police.

CPD's SWAT and Crisis Negotiations Team later responded and arrested Parey on charges of fourth-degree assault, second-degree harassment, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, misuse of 911 and active warrants.

No injuries were reported.
