Andy Reid’s coaching style plays massive role in a Chiefs dynasty

The Kansas City Chiefs will look for their third ring in five seasons when they take the field against the San Fransisco 49ers on Sunday night at Allegiant Stadium. It'll be far from the first big game that head coach Andy Reid has led his teams to, as he hunts for his fourth ring.
Over the years, Reid's teams have been famous for their grittiness, a quality which is built during his grueling training camps out in St. Joe, Missouri. Star tight end Travis Kelce said you don't realize how much those long days pay off in the moment.
"You don't realize exactly why you're working so hard," he said in a press conference on Thursday. "Until you get into those games where you know you need to take it up a notch."
Reid is always the first one to deflect the credit to his players and the support he has in the front office, however, safety Justin Reid said it's all about how Big Red builds his teams.
"We don't have bickering. We don't have drama on this team. He's able to handle and squash all of that before things even happen and he builds an environment where guys stick together," he said. "You play hard for one another. It's very healthy. It's competitive, it's not combative."
The 65-year-old head coach fielded quite a few questions about retirement during his Super Bowl LVIII press conferences in Las Vegas. Each time he said that's not on his mind and it definitely won't be happening on Sunday.
The 2023 campaign was one that came with a bit more adversity for Coach Reid. His team lost five out of eight games, spanning from Oct. to Dec. But, they were able to figure it out quick enough to make it to the group's fourth Super Bowl in five seasons. Players and coaches alike said a win in this one would mean just a little bit more, with the route they took to get there.
Reid, currently fourth on the all-time list of wins for NFL head coaches, will look to add another one to list on Super Sunday, as he keeps trying to stack up his resume to become one of the best coaches in the league's history.
