JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel and Hamas are examining proposed terms for a deal meant to bring about a cease-fire in the four-month-old war in the Gaza Strip in exchange for the release of dozens of hostages who are still held captive there. The sides remain far apart on their conditions. Mediators Qatar, Egypt and the U.S. are working to bridge the gaps and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in the region pushing for progress.
