Woman accused of stealing nearly $6,500 from employer in December

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia woman was charged on Friday in Boone County with stealing after she was accused of taking $6,400.55 from her employer in December.

Bonita Foster, 61, was charged with two counts of stealing more than $750.  A warrant for her arrest was requested and a $10,000 bond was set, according to court documents. The name and location of the business was redacted in court documents.

According to the probable cause statement, Foster was the only employee working at the business on Dec. 21 when $940 went missing. The statement says she was seen on a surveillance camera taking a bundle of money and a green bag out of a safe, and putting a bundle of money and the bag back in the safe.

On Dec. 24, Foster was allegedly seen – in surveillance video -- stuffing white envelopes filled with money down her pants, according to court documents. The probable cause statement says $5550.55 went missing that day.
