Lucky’s Market files for bankruptcy, sells some assets to Aldi

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Grocery chain Lucky's Market announced it filed for bankruptcy on Monday.

The company announced last week that it's closing 32 of its 39 stores.

On Monday, Lucky's said it has filed for Chapter 11 protection. According to the announcement, Aldi made an agreement with the grocer to lease five of its stores and purchase one.

Lucky's Market in Columbia will continue to operate as the company moves forward with bankruptcy.
