Moniteau County man accused of threatening to kill judge, prosecutor sentenced to probation

A California, Missouri, man who was accused of threatening to kill the judge and prosecutor in a Cole County domestic assault case was sentenced on Friday to probation.
Kody Sidebottom, 27, pleaded guilty on Friday to tampering with a judicial officer. He was sentenced to five years of supervised probation with a suspended sentence of seven years. We was ordered to serve 180 days in jail and was given credit for time served.
According to previous reporting, he was incarcerated earlier this year and allegedly told an inmate that he planned to shoot and kill the judge and prosecutor in his domestic assault case. He pleaded guilty in June to second-degree property damage and two counts of fourth-degree domestic assault. He was sentenced to two years of probation with a suspended sentence of 180 days.
Court documents say Sidebottom was released and confessed to planning to kill the judge and prosecutor after he was found by law enforcement.
