No one hurt in Jefferson City fire on Sunday

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

All residents made it safely out of a two-story building Sunday afternoon when it caught fire.

Jefferson City Fire Department responded to the fire in the 400 block of Ashley Street around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, firefighters saw light smoke coming from the front. The fire was determined to be an accident.

Firefighters determined the fire started in a second-floor closest and stayed contained there.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire. The building now has smoke damage to the second and first floors, and fire damage on the second floor.

No one was hurt or displaced by this fire, according to the Jefferson City Fire Department.
