Tracking cool weather and chances to see snow

TONIGHT: I'm tracking the gradual breaking of clouds with temperatures dropping into the low/mid 20s by the end of the night. Winds from the northeast will make it feel just a bit cooler than the actual temperature.

TOMORROW: I'm tracking clouds quickly building back through the morning hours as a system traverses through Missouri. This will be bringing the potential to observe our first snowfall of the season. Through the afternoon I'm expecting rain further south of I-70, more of a mix along I-70, and higher chances for accumulating snow further to the north. This will last through the evening and overnight hours into Sunday morning. Chariton, Randolph, and Macon county are currently under a Winter Weather Advisory from 12 PM Saturday until 3 AM Sunday with slippery road conditions being the main impact. The best chances for snow accumulation (1-2") on grassy surfaces and roads remains to the north and west of central Missouri, but the wintry mix has the potential to still cause travel impacts throughout much of the region.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking snow, rain and clouds clearing quickly into Sunday morning, but with winds out of the northwest temperatures will barely climb into the high 30s by the afternoon hours. Starting next week the trend of brisk mornings remain as mid-Missouri will start in the low 20s with wind chills that make it feel even cooler. We'll slowly warm up throughout the first half of the week, but Thursday and Friday bring another chance for precipitation.
