Columbia College holds Veterans Day ceremony

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia College honored veterans on Friday in front of the outside the Gen. Charles E. McGee House on North Eighth Street.

This ceremony held the day before Veterans Day included speakers from the college, Silver Star Families of America and the Missouri National Guard.

During the ceremony, the college announced that it renewed its education partnership with the Missouri National Guard Association by signing a memorandum of agreement.

Associate VP of Strategic Partnerships and Projects Rob Boone -- who is also an Army veteran -- spoke about helping veterans and their experience at Columbia College.

"We have well-trained counselors and advisors who understand the military and veterans, and we provide the best service we possibly can by understanding their needs," he said.

According to a press release from the school, it has more than 20,00 military-affiliated alumni around the world.
