Chiefs fall to Broncos, snap six-game win streak

The Kansas City Chiefs lost their first game against the Denver Broncos since 2015 on Sunday 24-9 at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium. Before Sunday's loss, the Chiefs had won their last 16 matchups with the Broncos and won their last six games this season. Kansas City now holds a 6-2 record.

Kansas City did not find the end zone in Denver, scoring all its points on three field goals by Harrison Butker. Denver scored three touchdowns on its home field, including a four-yard pass to Javonte Williams, an 11-yard catch by Jerry Jeudy and a 6-yard pass to Courtland Sutton.

Patrick Mahomes struggled in this contest, completing just 24 of his 38 passes and throwing two interceptions. The Chiefs turned the ball over five times in the game and never took the lead.

However, the Kansas City defense played well in Denver. The Chiefs sacked Russell Wilson six times and recovered a fumble.

Up next - Mahomes and company travel to Germany to face the Miami Dolphins as part of the NFL's Frankfurt Games. Kickoff for that contest is scheduled for Nov. 5 at 8:30 a.m.
