Tracking rain overnight, warm with some dry time on Wednesday
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers. Lows in the lower 60s.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy and breezy with highs in the upper 70s. Isolated to scattered showers and storms possible.
EXTENDED: We start to saturate more tonight as the low level jet stream ramps up, bringing more rain farther east into Mid-Missouri. Showers will start to thin out a bit on Wednesday and become more scattered, and we remain warm with highs in the upper 70s in the afternoon. Another low pressure system slides to our northeast on Thursday, bringing yet another wave of rain and storms. This front finally begins working into Mid-Missouri on Friday, but ahead of the front we can expect mild temperatures in the upper 70s and thunderstorms. A few storms could bring gusty winds, especially for areas south of I-70. Over the weekend, the front looks to settle across southern and southeast Missouri, leaving us chilly for both Saturday and Sunday with highs in the upper 50s. Rain is likely both days along with a few embedded thunderstorms. Rain begins to clear the area early next week as high pressure moves in from the northwest, bringing the potential for our first freeze early next week. Highs look to reach the upper 40s on both Monday and Tuesday, with a cold Halloween night for trick-or-treaters.
