Columbia man charged with child molestation

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was charged on Thursday with first-degree child molestation in Boone County.

A warrant was ordered for Ricky Cook, 52, and no bond was set. He was not in the Boone County Jail on Thursday. A court date has yet to be set.

According to court documents, Cook is accused of molesting the child victim from 2017-2020 on an almost nightly basis.

The probable cause statement says the victim eventually placed a video camera in their room and physical touching stopped once the camera was noticed, but video allegedly captured Cook still entering the victim’s room and taking specific clothing.

The victim said in an interview with Rainbow House they would later find bodily fluids on clothing taken from their room, according to the probable cause statement.
