Power lines fall on Jefferson City firetruck, no firefighters hurt
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City firetruck that was parked on St. Mary’s Boulevard was hit by power lines, according to an email from a Jefferson City Fire Department spokesman.
Firefighters were in the area conducting fire-prevention inspections at businesses when a tractor-trailer hit a power line around 3 p.m., which brought down the pole and line on top of the truck and shocked it, according to the email.
No firefighters were on the truck. The extent of the damage is not known, the email states.
Another firetruck, Ameren and the Jefferson City Police Department showed up to the scene. Power was temporarily lost in the area, but was restored, according to the area.
According to Ameren’s outage map, there are currently 63 outages reported in Cole County.
