Tracking a chilly start to the week, sunshine Monday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with temperatures dropping into the upper 40s to low 50s. Patchy fog developing by daybreak in river valleys.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and beautiful with highs in the upper 70s to around 80.

EXTENDED: We'll start the week off on a nice note with clear skies tonight, allowing temperatures to dip into the upper 40s in a couple of areas north of I-70. Patchy fog could develop in river valleys and low lying areas. Tuesday will be the warmest day of the week as a warm front lifts through the region, starting temperatures out in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees in the morning, rising into the mid-80s by afternoon. An upper level disturbance approaches by Tuesday night, bringing a chance of showers and storms through Wednesday. Spotty showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible Thursday and Friday during the day as there could be enough forcing available to develop rain tied to the heat of the day. We could have some dry time between Friday and Saturday before the next low pressure system rolls in, bringing a chance for rain and storms between Saturday night and Sunday. High temperatures beyond Tuesday will be in the upper 70s with lows falling into the lower 60s each night.
