WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) — In a story published September 15, 2023, The Associated Press reported that the Lahaina wildfire was the deadliest fire in the U.S. in more than a century. The story should have made clear that it was the deadliest wildfire in more than a century, as there have been deadlier building fires.
