Miller County family continues to search for answers in missing teen case

A Miller County family is continuing to search for answers as Tuesday marks two years since David Michael Bowers Jr. has been declared missing.
Bowers Jr. was last seen on Sept. 12, 2021, in Affton, Mo.
His mother, Chyenne Noriega, says family and friends are holding a candlelight vigil at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bagnell Dam Scenic Overlook to bring attention to his case. His family tells ABC 17 News he went missing while on a trip with friends to Affton, Mo., when the group ran out of gas around 1 a.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, there were 3,884 adults and 7,115 juveniles reported missing that year.
MSHP says he was last seen in a white and black hoodie, jeans and white tennis shoes. The Highway Patrol says he has dreadlocks with blond and green tints, multiple scars on his arms and several tattoos including an eye image on his right thumb and a tattoo of Homer Simpson.
Highway Patrol says Bowers Jr. stands at 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 128 pounds.
A GoFundMe has been set up by Bower's mother to help pay for a private investigator to find answers for the family. As of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, the fundraiser had raised $100 with a goal of $7,000.
